Reviewing this & the other carcam which of the 2 would you recommend as I do a lot more night driving & would be really good to have that extra set of eyes as my witness if something did go wrong. & when will BBC or someone pick you up to do your own TV show
@HorseShit35 The other car camera I reviewed a year ago wasn’t very good at anything, I wouldn’t recommend that one at all. This one is a lot better at everything, but I’m sure that there are some cheaper and simpler models out there (I’ve only tested two). I’d suggest having a look through ebay for alternatives but stick to .h264 cameras rather than mjpeg and forget night vision cameras with IR LEDs on them – they just reflect glare back off the windscreen.
I just went to that website listed and they claim this camera is No Longer Available
“Sorry, this product is not available to buy any more. Please browse Chinavasion for alternatives.”
I looked around on the site and could not find it listed as for sale in other
sections.
I have been watching for something like this for about a year now
and was thinking this model had the features I preferred , finally.
Know of other suppliers or maybe you can find out what happened?
Maybe new model?
ebay: “H.264 1080P Full HD Car Video Recorder With GPS Logger”
$AUD 183 incl post.
Wife & I have one accident every 5 years now (retired). Last one (fault other driver) – we lost $500, getting back enough to buy a replacement (comprehensive insured).
Give the full evidence, maps, photos, transcripts to POLICE! (we kept ours for insurance co. – which they ignored; relying on Police report only. Get all witnesses name & phone no. Police was racist: all were white except us.
Hi, another good review. This is another one of the cams that I have bought – although mine is identical in every way, it is made by DOD and is the GS600. The one problem I have is the auto record. Having a diesel, I cannot start the car immediately I turn on the ignition, I have to wait for the glowplugs. turning the engine over cuts power to the cam, this really confuses it. I have been asked to send it back for a firmware upgrade (delayed start) which they are putting in their new cams

chinavasion has discontinued this product
Bummer… I was just about to get me a pair…
Thanks Techmoan for a great review!
Another thing…
Are these cameras legal in the U.K?
Or are they legal to use on public roads?
Its worse when it recorded your own driving style for the police who stops you:D

are the cords long enough to run around the top and side of the wind shield?
