One Response to “what is the difference between communication, observation and global positioning system satellites?”

  1. Communication satellites relay radio waves, like TV transmissions or military communications.
Observation satellites take pictures, like weather satellites or spy satellites.
Global Positioning satellites send out precise time signals that a GPS receiver listening to several satellites at the same time can use to calculate its own position.
